Norma Grubb Endowment for the Dover Community Center, Inc.
This morning Good Morning America named Norma Grubb, of Dover, Kansas, the winner of the Best Slice competition for the best pie in America. Norma’s signature coconut cream pie is available at Somerset Hall Café, in Dover.
Everette and Judy Thomas, owners of the café, subsequently announced the establishment of an endowment honoring Norma and benefitting the Dover Community Center, Inc. The Thomases are starting this fund with a donation of one dollar for every pie that Norma has baked since they reopened the historic café in October of 2006. This gift of over $ 2,300 establishes an endowment from which earnings will be used to operate and maintain the Dover Community Center, Inc.
